Rhimnant: Champions

We managed to sneak these guys in the studio between two other sessions.  As always, the guitar by our dear friend Adam Boggs is spot on. This was a really great project, and we're honored to be part of it.

Sassfrass: Stormy Monday

This was the final recording of a really great 3 week session. We had our silky smooth custom ribbon mics on the drum overheads, a Neumann TLM-103 in front of the talent, an AKG 414 on the guitar amp and a BSS direct box on the bass.  Of corse, having really great musicians made this recording timeless. Mixed on our custom modded Soundcraft console.

Wicked Wench: The Other Way

I challenge you to listen to this on a good pair of headphones and not get goose bumps. The lyrics, driving bass, haunting cellos and lead vocal combine to make a perfect storm.  Sometimes we can't believe how awsome our job is. Everytime we hear this mix, we do a fist pump and say "We frigg'n recorded and mixed that!"

Toni Schuto: If I Fell in Love with You

This ia a great super-analog recording of the Beatles classic. These guys were awesome to work with, and even more fun to mix.

Nathan Fitch: Storm

This is the first recording we made in our historic building. We called on local musician Nate Fitch and (frigg'n aye) he delivered.  This song was mostly improvised during a 3 hour session on a epic summer evening. Its a great testament to the relationship between musician, studio and recording engineer.

Sassfrass: Green River

Can you hear the bullfrogs calling? We always smile when this gets to the guitar solo.

Bryan Himes: Land of the Free

This was a fun  late night session with two of Kentucky's greatest local musicians.  It was really great to be part of this project.

SlowLoader: Rapture

We classify this as a super analog recording. Give it a listen to find out why.

Small Batch: Dark Days

Who decided it was a good idea to record outside on the coldest day of the year?  Better yet, who decided to record next to the busiest intersection in Lexington? Sometimes you can't control your enviroment, but you can use every tool in your arsenal to pull off a wicked mix anyhow... and it helps when the talent is really great!

Mad Anthony: Need Somebody

We met up with Mad Anthony for a remote recording on the banks of the Ohio River. Despite a very challenging location, the episode came out great! The boys pulled out an epic performance despite having just returned the day before from touring, and an epic show at the Green Lantern the night before.

Carpe Diem: 60 Second National Spot

We were asked by our friend Jason Epperson to capture audio for this unique project. It was a fun day of capturing sound and dialouge at Kentucky's historic Keeneland race track. The result is a groundbreaking spot elevating Carpe Diem's brand, in a trailer which played in theaters and television nationwide.

23 Blast: Feature Film

When Dylan Baker (Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Anchor Man II) came to the bluegrass state to film his directorial debut, he asked us to join the team and handle location sound duties for this film about a family uplifted by faith.

Buffalo Wild Wings: Busted

We teamed up with Mike Benton from Courage Media to capture audio for this nationwide spot. Meeting Grant Hill was awesome... and so were the wings!

Eppic/Lucky Day: Unrequited

Doing location sound for this teen thriller had us deployed to some remote locations. You wouldn't believe how many chiggers you can get while holding a boom pole.

Coal in Kentucky: Full Documentary
The Acending Journey: Full Documentary
Trenches: Web Series
Forcht Bank: 30 Second Spot
Numbers USA: Gumballs
Kentucky Detours: Keenland Concours
ABC's The Chew: KFC National Fried Chicken Day

In honor of National Fried Chicken Day, we were asked by our friends at The Chew to help document why Kentucky Fried Chicken tastes so darn good! We spent a fun day in the KFC test kitchen recording, and trying all of the Colonel's recipes!

Becoming Truly Human: Feature Film

We were elated to provide location sound services for this honest, revealing documentary. BECOMING TRULY HUMAN follows Basil as he navigates our modern cultural landscape, engaging with a group of spiritual "nones" (religiously unaffiliated) in honest and open discussion on religion and spirituality, while recounting his own journey as a "none" in search of spiritual wholeness. Watch the first 4 minutes below.

Rhyan Sinclair: Living Room Sessions
